CXXIV: I Was Wrong [Or Whatever]… — Fabletics!

MY INITAL ISSUE WITH FABLETICS:

So that my readers have some context here, I will start with why I initially chose not to support Fabletics…

I oftentimes buy things online because me and my introverted ways keep me in the house more than others. I prefer to be in the house. I like that my shopping experiences come sans the aggressive and sometimes annoying sales clerk(s). And, it’s just super convenient, except…

When a brand advertises a product as being one thing and you get it and it’s completely different, it’s annoying. Not only is it annoying, it’s inconvenient. I say this because this is what Fabletics did initially!

We all know that, when I work out, I work out to actually make gains. And, I generally don’t work in baby gains. I sweat like a pig, I run hard [but slowly], and I try to do a full body workout each time that I workout.

So, I generally need more reliable workout wear…

MARKETING

Honestly, I can deduce a lot about Fabletic’s marketing team just based on the couple of ear-splittingly annoying commercials that I’ve seen.

I believe that horrible marketing can completely turn buyers away from a good product (not to mention the fact that they were falsely advertising initially).

So, Fabletics initially stated that: (1) their products wick moisture; (2) aren’t see-through; (3) are thick; (4) don’t slide down while you’re working out, and so on…

So, when a product/brand states that they can do all of those things, I get excited and want to try the product! But, when I get the product and it’s a complete flop, not only is that false regarding the above-mentioned promises but it’s also like stealing money from those who only attempted to be loyal to you.

I just didn’t appreciate it.

THE CHANGE CAME ABOUT WHEN FABLETICS UPPED THEIR GAME!

There was a very noticeable change to the quality of Fabletics pieces. I don’t know if it was because of customer complaints, or just a realization that people should get their money’s worth. Whatever the cause, I was here for it!

So, I bought a couple of pieces to see how they wear.

Fit, Moisture Wick, Range of Motion:

I used the measurements chart to determine what sizes to buy. I ended up getting a size ‘small’ in bottoms and a ‘medium’ sports bra. I have decided, however, that I’d like more support up top, so will go with a ‘small’ sports bra next time around.

As far as moisture is concerned, again I sweat a ton, and you can see it as clear as day in these as well as my black Fabletics bottoms. 🤷🏾‍♀️ What can you do!?

Range of motion: these are super breathable and have amazing stretch to them. They are a tad bit see-through but I’ll just attribute that to the color that I got.

Overall:

Given the patterns, designs and fits that Fabletics offers, there’s certainly something there for everyone!

I found so many colorful pairs that I would definitely wear. Not to mention the fact that you can also customize down to the inseam, so I get the new hype surrounding Fabletics, and I might just agree with it.

Certain material mixes make my legs itch when I run long distances, but I didn’t have that problem in these. Also, I don’t feel like that’s a very common problem (maybe it’s a detergent/allergen issue, who knows!). Either way this material just works! It’s lightweight and does not chaf.

As far as the high-waisted area rolling or sliding down while working out, get this, NO PROBLEM THERE. It simply doesn’t move.

This was odd to me because the material is super stretchy but it’s like it stretches to your body and then stays there, so it’s beyond good!

However:

Do be weary in purchasing.

If you are buying from Fabletics because of the 2 leggings for $24 deal, don’t.

What they quietly represent is that this only applies to your first order. Orders after that you get a small discount at best.

Is it worth an overall monthly commitment of any sort? Probably not.

When there are brands like Gymshark and Nike that allow you to purchase colorful workout outfits without a commitment, why tie yourself to this brand?

Additionally, the marketing of this product kills my soul! There is a such thing as overkill and honestly, at this point, Fabletics would be better off allowing customer’s actual testimonials and reviews being the ones telling the story or selling the product for a bit.

But this doesn’t take away from the fact that I actually enjoy the products so far and may consider purchasing more.

Overall, I suppose this product is Let’s Be Breef-Approved!
