CXLIV: Let's Close This Out! ✌🏾

The time has come…

Although blogging has been an exciting and pleasant journey for me, it is time to throw in the towel!

DON’T GET ME WRONG…

Blogging has given me a beautiful abyss to scream my thoughts into. It’s given me the perfect stage to share my most and least favorite items and places. It’s given me the ability to have the conversations that I needed to have without dealing with the fatigue that social interaction oftentimes causes me.

Simply put, blogging has been so good to me.

BUT A PART OF KNOWING YOURSELF IS KNOWING WHEN YOU’RE DONE…

When blogging started to become more of a task and the book reviews began to pile up, I realized that maybe I’m not in the creative spaces that I once was.

When the things and people in my life stopped sparking that need to run to my keyboard and hash things out, I began to realize that maybe I’ve finally found other ways to cope (those ways may not be clear to me yet, but I assume they’re there).

I’ve leaned on blogging as a way to creatively share my thoughts. I’ve used it as a blank page that I could fill weekly, for myself, and whether other people read it or not. It’s been my crutch for so long that letting it go is honestly scary…

THE BEST PARTS ARE ALWAYS WITH ME…

The best things about blogging came from those who simply took the time to read what I wrote.

Halfway through this journey, I remember the messages that I’d get just thanking me for my honesty and fearlessness and I never understood why… It was honestly me who should have been thanking them.

I understand, now more than ever, how big it is to get someone to read something (let alone, a blog post) that’s longer than 140 characters. The fact that people took the time to read my thoughts, which weren’t always Breef, will forever mean the world to me.

SO, ALTHOUGH IT’S DIFFICULT, IT’S TIME TO SAY GOODBYE TO LET’S BE BREEF...

I haven’t decided whether or not the website will go completely or how exactly this will work, but I do know that this choice did not come without an insane amount of difficulty.

Overall, I just thank everyone for reading, thank you all for the support, and thanks for letting me keep it Breef for this long.
