Italian Food I Love (Pesto Campanelle)

Welcome back!

Continuing on my search for the most delicious food in the vicinity, I’ve found another local restaurant to test out and I honestly think that this one is a keeper.

Location

This location is central to the goings-ons of downtown Sacramento and place you in the heart of the action. It’s walking distance to DOCO which houses the newly built Golden 1 Center, a movie theater and a Macys that’s been holding on for dear life for quite some time!

If that doesn’t get you then it’s proximity to the beautiful Capital; modeled after that of Washington D.C., and Old Sac, with its notable cobbled roads and river cruise will.

the food

First: you know that I ordered pasta.

Secondly: you know that it was delicious because I’m currently writing a post about it!

This beauty is the CAVOLO CAMPANELLE. It’s comprised of pesto alla genovese, toasted pinenuts, and parmigiano reggiano. It’s a creamy, perfectly seasoned and delicious pasta that’s sure to excite. They even added toasted spinach to add to the overall texture (but if you’re not a fan, you can pick them off and won’t be able to taste the difference).

This meal is certainly one that I will be coming back for (that and the excellent bar-seating service).

It goes without saying that this restaurant will certainly be on my “regulars” list. When I need a delicious meal that I know will be great and service that’s equally great then I know exactly where to go. When I need something new, then I’ll set my sights on another restaurant in my search for the best food in the area - again, I’ll be reaching bon vivant status before you know it.

But, it’s always good to have a constant and Willow is certainly top of the list for me now! Check them out:
